It’s A Dogs Life 40

It was a toss up whether to do this today -in isolation, or tomorrow -after the op, but experience has taught me that I generally feely grogy and uninspired in the immediate aftermath (like major dental work).

So here I am “stuck” in my room of 1000 games, several hundred books, a PC and a laptop, playing, ” no after you, excuse me, no you come out first” with my familly, to comply with the three day pre op-isolation.

I understand that it is, of course, not me, I am protecting, but the eye surgery staff tomorrow. So while the actual checking up is no more intensive than,

“so did you self isolate?”

“are you realy sure you self isolated?”

“certain?”

Out of respect, I do the expected things (or don’t do, as is mostly the case), and at least attempt to dance the dance around my wife and sons. How someone in a “normal sized” house would do this, I cannot imagine.

The little information I have about tomorrows op, suggests that my new super lens gets clipped into place – clipped onto what? I am uncertain, and I have visions of coming out with some sort of blood-shot cyborg eye, capable of terrifying small children (at least). Naturally I will continue to review my “Evil Mastermind CV” in the hopes of becoming the new Nemesis of the new Bond, or even snagging a bit part in Dr Who.

Meanwhile, I’m delighted to announce, that, including cash donations which I’m still holding, my fundraising firewalk has already more than doubled my target of £200. This is a tremendous performance by all of you, and I can only say thank you again to everyone who has given, and I hope that I can match this by a suitable performance on the day (27 days and counting). I absolutely promise a video, and there may, just may, be a small (stress small) but apt “promotional” reward for all my backers… watch this space.

All that being said, I’d still like to push for the £500 (nice round number), and I still need to decide how to dress for the ocassion. It seems my flowing Jedi robes will, just-not-do, so the choices are Kilt, Lucky Dog Performance clothes, Fancy dress, Shorts and Charity Tee-shirt. Suggestions on a post card (to younger viewers, who may be unaware what a post card is; you can text).

Anyway I’m off to isolate in my garden, where there’s surely work to do.

Next week on IaDL – it’ll be talk like a pirate day! Arrrrr!
