Unbelievably, that’s a year in our new house!
It’s not exactly been a normal year, indeed I’m not altogether sure what a “normal year” would look like.
Hogmanay was cancelled, Burns night was cancelled, many other events were steered around whether 6 could attend or who could be in the same household, or who was isolating. LFT’s dictated who could visit, or not.
On the plus side, inspite of everything, we’ve actually had most of our friends for dinner, or at least “tea and cake”. We’ve had guests to stay, a little music outdoors, and the force of organisation has made an impact about a third of the way along the garden (still more to do).
Not wishing to jump on the bandwagon, but while it’s passing, I shall be organising my next alfresco event as a “work meeting” (BYOB), which will resolve most of the issues (?)
While I’m sure there is plenty of winter still to come, the sun shining in the windows means plans for the garden are being dusted off for the year ahead, and, I’ve also been looking for some new challenge (?). The Firewalk was a conspicuous success (thanks to you) and it seems to me that I could (perhaps “should”) follow that up with some other life threatening stunt to raise money for a worthy cause. Seems like I could do more to “give back”.
Suggestions on a postcard (younger viewers may text).
I’m off to paint a barrel (you’ll see)
Next week on IaDL: Where’s the snow shovel?
