It’s a Dog’s Life, Today

I’m on holiday.

Several days away from the coalface of public transport and accuracy, and as it happens, my wife, and slightly to my surprise, both boys, are going to visit her many relatives in the islands.

I will be remaining here at Kilmarnock HQ with a lengthy task list, items of entertainment and personal development, and various building and garden jobs that have been put off after the whirlwind construction of moving in died down later last year. Hopefully, I may even play some guitar.

Many of these are likely to involve “the very big steps” and other old (sharp/jaggy/electric) friends, so there should be opportunities for mishap, or a least, reflecting on the unfairness of life. Also, the car is going north as well, so I will be cycling or walking, or – god forbid- using public transport, so there should be plenty of further scope there.

So as an experiment, or perhaps to encourage myself, I shall attempt to keep a more daily journal of these few days. HIghlighting achievement? and bemoaning failures, perhaps that will keep me from wasting too much time on Google while sitting amid the uncleared Chinese takeaway boxes.

As my actual “holiday” does not begin till Saturday, I will take a moment to give a shout out to “Doris Schwartz” whom I failed to mention in my “Kids from Fame ” rant, much to the disappointment of one hardcore fan – you know who you are. (Fiesty, dark curly hair, Comedienne, all round entertainer – sorry , that’s Doris, not the fan).

Todays most immediate task is to wait for the (new) window cleaner, however I have my suspicions that they may look at our three stories and run away, in which case I may have to lean out with cloths and sponges, or maybe even stand on ledges…what could go wrong?

Tomorrow on IaDL I love a good list….
