It’s a Dogs Life Today Strikes Back!

Well that’s them away.

In a very typically Scottish environment, I stood blinded by the April sun as I was scraping the ice off the windows amid the odd flury of snow. God speed…

With my awesome “packing a vehicle” skill (one of my real superpowers), they all fit without any parts sticking out the windows.

I was not, in fact, sent shopping yesterday, but went cycling (good exercise) instead – I am now sore today. However on my local travels I acquired two more lights for the garden. End of range discontinued wall lights, last two in the shop, a bargain.

I got as them far as my back door, when, in an acrobatic hand change movement, one of them escaped and exploded on the tiled floor.

I had been carrying them with excessive care of a man who has seen this happen before, but, it was not enough.

I think my whole world paused for about a week while I mentally reconstructed the event.

The book says you cannot do this, but, the light was “crackle glass” (a cracked pattern). It doesn’t need to retain water, or even be 100% complete. One of the lights, that’ll be this one, has to go high up where no-one can look too closely.

With enough patience and super glue you can rebuild anything after a fashion, although it is an extremely challenging 3-D jigsaw. It was the whole rest of the day, but you can come see it sometime, high up on the wall .

Today, today I have a couple of friends coming by (It’s Saturday after all). A chance to slob out, drink beer and sit amid discarded Chinese takeaway boxes.

This way I have 6 days to tidy up….

Tomorrow on IaDL : How do you get this superglue off your fingers…

As promised.
