Well I dodged a bullet yesterday. After several phone calls with no result, I pulled the bike out, did the tyres, the chain, the gears, sorted my gloves, water, a map, snacks, and got underway.
Ten minutes down the road I get a call back and , after a little too and fro, abandon the cycle for an invitation to dinner with some of my extended familly.
Just as well, since the 6pm rain started about 2. I would have been a very wet and miserable cyclist indeed. I’ll do (attempt) the 20 mile round trip another day.
Apart from some actual guitar playing, and of course a delicious meal, I have returned with a loan of the one tool I need to do the final connection for the garden bathroom, ( a key task on the “while everyone is away” list). However as this is (partly) outdoor work with power tools, and it is currently sleeting, I may have to content myself with some planning and prep, (and probably some washing, I may even recycle the beer can).
There are a few shelves that can be looked at if I get bored, and a vague plan to finally organise those cupboards that haven’t been touched since we moved in (“just stick that in here for just now” ).
-Wow I haven’t seen these photos/book/bits of writing in years, let’s just sit here on the floor mid the mess, and look through them…..where did the day go?-
Tomorrow on IaDL – Tuesday – that’ll be my productive day….
