Well, rather to my surprise, yesterday did turn out to be the productive day. The rain abated just long enough for me to do the critical outside work – connecting the garden toilet to the main sewer pipe . Not a pleasant job, nor with out some risk, but the planning and preparation paid off. Although there is more to do, it’s much more in the nature of “big lego” to finish off.
Of course I did have to entirely rebuild the outside sink stand, which now doubles as a support for the new pipe (naturally it was almost- just a tiny bit -the wrong size as was). However the rain (mostly) stayed away for that too.
I rounded the day off by cooking Chicken Jambalya (mmm! MMM! MMMM!) after an EXTREMELY thorough wash.
Today however, the heavens have opened with no suggestion of let up. While the work still to do is internal, there is no space inside to saw and cut (with any ease), so I will postpone these endevours.
Tomorrow I am invited back to Paisley (different friends) and have a music rehersal later, so I suspect it will be a lost day for building (and still more rain is forecast). I have already completed todays pennance of a two mile+ walk (medicinal) and am as wet as ..a very wet thing. Just sitting watching videos seems very appealling…
Well I am on holiday!
Tomorrow on IaDL : There was supposed to be a bus (or why I hate public transport )
