I didn’t want to leave everyone in suspense for a week; spoiler – I live.
OP2 went ahead with the help of beta blockers and temazapan. Now all I can do is wait to see what level of recovery I enjoy. Meantime the (intentional) gas bubble in my eye allows me to determine how flat my situation is .
{Mo, if you’re reading, it brings a whole new humour to ‘Level'”}
Warning: Serious dog>
I didn’t heed the advice to get checked out as quicky as I should, in part, because I did not realise how quickly this condition could progress. Monday, slightest shadow – Wed loss of 50% vision (in that eye). I suspect by Thursday, which would be 1 week from the first minor symptom, I’d have been blind.
I could still have been treated, but the more advanced the condition, the longer and more complex the op, and the less the chances of 100% recovery.
So people, take the small time, to get checked if you get black spots, unexpected floaters, twisty smoke (like ink in water), feeling like gel over your eye. (or other usual eye symptoms) Could be nothing, could be hayfever, could be you’ll save your sight.
Serious dog off>
Meantime I’m off to disprove the Flat earth theory with my new superpower.
