It’s a Dogs Life 85

Where to start?

Probably with the loading and unloading of an entire truck of timber , which would have been impossible without the stalwart assistance of my wife, and both sons! (and Bob, thanks!) So we now have a giant pile of unsorted ex decking complete with screws – stacked (and I use the term in the loosest possible sense) in our garden.

This is, of course, the stuff of future projects and schemes – a mezanine – a retaining wall – a decking area – several giant planters. It may even impact on my inherited collection of screws of all sizes, then again, that may be wishfull thinking.

Of course well intentioned as these constructive dreams are, there will still need to be some small time spent casually removing all the old screws, triming the odd rotten corner, and manhandling each plank to some kind of temporary home/storage, after the sanding.

I wasn’t really planning much with the rest of my life anyway….more anon

However before that, I sally north to the Howiejam – to play a gig with the band! This is the all new, never before seen, Blues line up, with our all singing vocalist (not me by the way). There may even be some chance for him to meet the drummer, before we play. There are rumours of rehersal, but really, why spoil things. This event traditionally incorporates a road trip with Tony and Bert, several blinding guitar lead duels, a new lucky dog song/story/poem, someone getting lost near Aberdeen, and the Martian arriving at the last possible second, so plenty to look forward too…. more anon

Tomorrow my “youngest” return to school for his 6th year – having just having celebrated his 17th (!!) birthday. However I also return to work at base (spoiler, I was there today too) in order to have, an experienced pair of hands, someone expendable, on the front line when the hundreds of school related taxis jobs, get sent out into the new, all dancing, computer dispatch system (it also polishes the coffee pot and picks up radio Luxembourg, I’m assured). Nothing to see here, move along….more anon.

Anon on IaDL ….More
