Well the good news is, my results are in , and the hospital are happy I can drive!
Hooray!
If I had that in writing, I might even be able to get insurance.
Never mind, the eye department are going to respond to the DVLA to say that I’m good to go (in their opinion).
The DVLA just need to process that and get back to me with their formal findings.
This could be, “we are happy you can drive – but we’d like you to wait another 3 months” or something like that, as they march to their own drummer, but it should mean I’m back on the road eventually.
And it will be in writing.
The DVLA don’t hold with email or photocopies (or faxes I’ll bet). I can imagine a candlelit room full of scribes scratching away with quills, or at least, tapping away on actual mechanical typewriters (probably with carbon paper).
Slow, but thorough. An end is in sight. A light flickers at the end of the tunnel…
What’s that you say?
The hospital administraton have lost the letter from the DVLA?
Could I contact them to write again?
Two steps forward. One step back.
Next week on IaDL: A full list of the shops I can never enter again because they have Cxxxxxxxxxs stuff up before Halloween!
