“…..Hello DVLA, it;s been about a month since I spoke to my consultant, and I’m wondering if threre’s any update in my case?”
” Sorry Sir, I have no more information as we havent received anything from the hospital…..”
“…But my consultant said…………………. Could you confirm something for me? If I’ve been told verbally that I can drive, it’s DVLA policy that I may continue to drive until you send your final decision?”
“Yes indeed, sir”
” So could I have that in writing?”
“No sir, it’s strict policy that we give nothing in writing until the final decision..”
“… Hello hospital… Eye dept… DR X secretary….. I spoke to her a month a go, and her exact words were; ‘It’s on my desk just awaiting a signature, it’ll be in the post today’ – and that was the replacement for the one that was…. mislaid…. Oh you remember me… and the form(s)… and…. the Doctor left the country that day again…. and…. is due back at the end of November… probably.”
” Yes I’d be grateful if you could check if she put in in my file….. I look forward to hearing from you later”
It’s been two weeks of silence.
Some stories never seem to end.
Next week on IaDL: The official 100th post, still time to send in those suggestions.
