It was my intention to update the video of me reading “Night before Christmas”, or maybe write and record a new Festive song on guitar. I could have fallen (comically) down the stairs with a Santa hat on, and one too many eggnogs, but best laid plans….
Instead I had Xmas eve dinner with my wife and both sons (we are “out” today), all sat at the table with candles and “conversation” (not always the stock in trade of teenage lads). Then we sat round the tree with festive music exchanging gifts.
On christmas EVE! I hear you say in outrage! –
a/ He was probably born in October, as near as anyone can guess,
b/ Veterans of my many “23”rd parties will be aware that, as, Santas rather larger helper, I have special licence to move the date 24 hours .
c/ We have a busy day today.
In light of these events I am unapolgetic for the absence of any more elaborate entertainment. Instead, may I simply offer you the words of Tiny Tim;
“God bless us, each and everyone”

Next week on IaDL: Likely something maudlin about Hogmanay
