It’s a Dog’s Life …

“…remember Tam O’Shanter’s mare!”

We like to do Burns night in style. All the speeches, all the toasts, the poems, haggis, song, music, digerdoo’s, 9 foot long scroll of lyrics, Welsh choral singing, sheep punk (you had to be there).

It’s possible that there may have been some small libation consumed (not one bottle of red wine survived the weekend, and a couple of whisky bottles look a bit “pale”).

It seems like years since the “drouthie neighbours” have been able to gather for their annual high day, and it’s good to have it back. January seems too empty without some cause for shared celebration.

I manage to tick pretty much all of my “to do” boxes in this first month, the challenge now is to carry that resolve forwards into Feb, and to do so with friends.

As always I find my resolve fortified by the gathering of my near and dear, life is a little brighter, the load less, when can all walk together, even if we can just all meet at the ocassional crossroads. Now I need to plan something crazy for the second month… isn’t there some kind of “Saint’s day?”…

Next week on IaDL: The great St Valentines Day flower delivery (wavy lines wavy lines)
