It’s a (later than it should be) Dog’s Life..

Some, I’m sure, will suggest that my tardy post is the result of a slow recovery from drunken birthday celebrations. I smile wryly at the memory.

These (post stroke) days, a drunken debauche can be the third glass of wine, where once (and I look back now in horror!) it might have been the third bottle. I am more likely to be suffering from the morning aftertaste of a poor non alcholic beer, than the debilitating morning – after, of one too many vodka’s.

It is however not completely unrelated. A week of nightshift (“not the dread nightshift!”) has left me unclear on the position of New Year or the time of New York. I’m sad to say it just seems to take a little bit longer to recover each time the shift rolls by, and when that, in turn, follows into a day out and a late(ish) night (not strictly a birthday celebration, but good as), I get home completely exhausted. The laptop lies open with “It’s a dogzzzzzzzz” waiting incomplete.

I complain frequently about extra early starts, and late nights, but right now I am being defeated by 9-5 Mon-Fri. (Work five consecutive days? seriously?).

Old age ? I’m only 59 you know!

Next week on IaDL: Backshift? That’s even worser!
