It’s a Dogs Life…

On the third online attempt, I get my bus pass.

Your application has been declined, because – on the government website you have not been on for twelve years – your address is still in Pollok.

Had they bothered to let me know, I would probably have reapplied immediately.

My second application has been declined, beacause on the same antique government web page that you just corrected your address on, the name does not match that on the application…

and indeed, somewhere in 2000 I appear to have filled in;

name : Anthony Wilson Family name: Wilson

(Whch is correct, but clearly not what they meant)

Again they have not told me, and it’s late when I find out, and I’m peeved that I must again go through all the hoops to log onto a webpage I no longer use.

I delete the first Wilson, update, save, and immediately reapply.

Of course, ancient gov.co.uk web pages do not update themselves, they wait patiently for some human overseer to arrive at 09:01 and, after coffee, and the morning emails, confirm the changes. Thus the application goes back without the change.

I realise this about 1 minute too late, but I cannot cancel, or modify, or reapply until this one is processed and rejected. I resign to another 2 weeks of waiting.

It actually only took five days, and how and why are quite beyond me. I thought at first the modification had been detected…then I looked again;

So good they named me twice!

Next week, Music, garden ponds, digging….
