It’s a Dog’s Life…

(weights)

I frequently write some throw away quip about “didn’t I used to play guitar” in my next week IaDL. So in fairness I should note that some considerable guitar playing took place.

Checking back, I see that a “Clubhouse Session” was actually threatened in my list of likely events for the year, and it now gets a big satisfied tick (we can get some satisfaction..).

Some blues, some jamming, some Lucky Dog, and “Something Else” (special guests), all played to a capacity crowd. Can I just say, that I never anticipated “the Steam Pudding song” as a sing along number, although it was extremely gratifying that everyone did!

Big thanks to the Smiths (Northern Smiths) for hosting, food and bar. Naturally I have zero video to share, but perhaps someone (or thing?) else might have a snippet or two I can post?

Next up will be “return to Dalmally” (hopefullly not, one hundred and one songs for one hundred and one years) and then very rapidly “Killiefest Too”, so I’d better press on with the never ending construction in the garden.

As an early Fathers day (or late birthday) gift, I just received a set of weights, all the better to encourage the “old man” to do some exercise and look affter himself (keep that muscle mass?)

While I do appreciate the sentiment, I think the digging, sawing and hammering is still all the resistance training I need. Plus of course, everything still has to be carried to the other end of the garden… and back, which is why there is a place to rest about every ten feet. Not daft me.

Next Week on IaDL: If a man starts digging a pond in his garden in August last year, how many calories does he burn before he gets to have beer on a bench beside it?
