Turns out you can be builder, host, musician, organiser but not photographer as well. I appear to have exactly two photos from the gig in the garden, and I’m in one of them:

I’d like to claim it was drone photo, actually I’m just looking out the window, but it’s a rare shot of the whole garden. Also illustrating why it’s good to have a qualified gazebologist to build things (gusts up to 40 mph1).

The street lights are on (finally!), and you can just see them if you look closely, but to be honest it’s the (to my eyes) slightly worried expression on Colins face, that sells the shot (“who is this madman, what will he do next?”). Lesley might have the better photo, in fact Lesley might have a whole spool of better photos, as might some of the other guests…

I did manage to take a few more shots at this years Richard familly gathering, however they are entirely eclipsed by the three volume album set produced by “Big” Charlie.

But I did take one photo, which, well I thought it worked. It’s the events premier performer Mr Sam Richard:

He sings, he plays guitar, he blows harmonica, and looks very cool in B&W (he drums too, normally wouldn’t get allowed in, but he’s family..).

All of which is probably why I should stick to writing.

Next week on IaDL: Something about shift work probably.
