(silence)
It been a longer absence. Sometimes the shifts just don’t allow that window for inspiration, sometimes whole days go by without a world ending tragedy.
In my “daytime” (figuratively) job, I deal with taxi drivers. In many ways I’m a glorified troubleshooter, if I’m talking to a driver, somethings gone wrong, or isn’t working.
Like all mixed groups, you get drivers from all walks of life and many backgrounds, it’s no part of my job to judge or criticise, but every now and again a special treat turns up that’s too good not to share…
The great majority of my “troubleshooting” is making a phone call, tweaking some admin, or reading the driver the instructions that are already visible “on the tin” , however in the (thirty -my god!) years, you do get the occassional emergency.
Tonights incident involved a customer who was obvioulsy aware they had some underlying condition, and when they took unwell, the slightly panicked driver called me.
By the time the situation had been described, it was in fact, already resolved;
“It’s awright now” my Glaswegian driver reassured me, and I think, himself. ” She had a bit of a turn there, but she had one of they epidemic pens…”
Lucky break… I guess?
Next week: I had a guitar somewhere…
