It’s a Dogs Life (23)

“Everytime God closes a door, somewhere he opens a window…” (Sister Maria, Sound of Music)

Goodbye mr Bond, we will not meet again, mwahaha!

18 months later than advertised, 3 days isolation, (dancing round the familly, “no you have to leave before I go in” ” which towel did you use?”), 2 weeks holiday booked (the advised recovery period) with – no heavy lifting -“Hooray” – no protracted looking down – “?” – no bending down to pick stuff off the floor – suddenly I am butter fingers Wilson.

“Well it’s like this Mr Wilson – we took the Cataract out, so life will be brighter – BUT technical stuff technical stuff – so you need a different kind of replacement lens”.

The upshot, I must heal for about a month, then return, repeating the isolation and recovery period, and, only then – as an Australian pal facing the same op likes to put it – “will we be able to burn our names on the moon with our laser eyes.”

“There been a slight delay Mr Bond, if you would wait there I’ll be back to incinerate you presently…”

On the other hand;

Dear Mr Wilson, we are sorry to see you go, here is your (revised) final bill …… (drum roll) we owe you £3.85, yours, British Gas.

Huge crowrds cheer ! Fireworks explode ! The Red Arrows do a fly past.

“You can take your £3.85 and shove i……….!”

Next week on IaDL : People! we can visit!
