I thought I was complete with the firewalk saga, but not quite it seems.
I ran off the above “poster” (a still from the video) for my work, where many colleagues gave, but are unlikely to see me on facebook or here. Of course, my thanks still goes out to all of you, and donations have continued after the fact, now crossing the £700 mark (I’d have made up the last few quid myself to a nice round number).
I also have my unanswered question from last week , “what has this event taught me about myself?”
Well, having watched both videos and culled several still shots to assemble the poster, I’ve has a chance to reflect. But first…
“Well done Tony, I see you did the firewalk….” (Nightshift colleague who supported)
“Thanks, but the important thing was the money raised, so thank-you!” (LDW)
“I really liked the picture you used…” (Nc)
“?” (LDW)
“..it’s kind of out-of-focus like, those ones you see in a documentary….
….you know , like, is this really the YETI?” (Nc)
I know the person quite well, and I laughed just as hard as the rest of the room (real tears).
But I think she pointed (unintentionally) at an answer I had already seen.
The deep philosphical lesson I have taken from my firewalk, my “mystical insight” or personal devlopment is…..
…time to lose some weight!
Next week on IaDL – a thinner font maybe?
@NC – Possible sighting of “Hotfoot” AKA “Bigtum” ?
