(10 nil to us).
At one point, we heard a trap go (under the sink), removed the kill, and had barely replaced the kick-plate when we got a second hit.
Taking that kind of toll of “the enemy” does have grim satisfaction, but at the same time, ten intruders caught inside the house in seven days, is just depressing.
More happily, after our week of cull (or perhaps cull of weak?), it’s been nearly five days without a trace or trail. I’d like to think we broke them and they’ve run away, my suspicion is we got the stupid ones. However they are stealing no food from us, and there’s none to scavenge in the Syrian takeaway (yet), so perhaps they’re eating each other…?
After eight bags of gravel, my cunning deployment of two old coffee tins appears to have stymied all traffic on the one known “highway”, again that looks good, but there may simply be another tunnel we don’t know.
Feels like we’re back to “losing draw” at the price of eternal vigilance.
Woke up several days without having a coughing fit first, apparently I am well.
Looking forward to quite a lot of wine in the nearish future….
Next time on IaDL: Probably too much wine
