It’s a Dog’s Life…

(the law{society} is an even bigger ass)

I knew this day would come, and in an effort to preserve what little sanity I retain, I asked lovely Chris to handle it. I did not trust myself to sit down and be civil to another solicitor, much less send a(n unthreatening) reply to the Law society.

So the (reluctant) search has begun to find a solictor to check whether or not the first solicitors (the ones who were recently informed “done a bunk”), did, or did not, finalise our actual house purchase. (Information that the Law society would/could not give us).

Intitial estimates suggest this will be a four figure sum!

Just to be clear, that’s four figures, just to discover if any work needs done (it may not). It does not include the cost of completeing the task we thought was done five years ago, at todays prices.

Even writing leaves me in a rage. I should go and lie down in a darkened room.

While I complain regularly, it is mostly tongue in cheek, but being cheated by lawyers, just plays straight into my every prejudice, I can barely help myself as I seethe.

Come the revolution, first against the wall, the lawyers….

Next week on IaDL : I’ll probably be calmer by then, drink may be involved!
