It’s a Dog’s Life…

(Trees!).

The war against the rats remains at a losing stalemate. The war against the lawyers remains futile, but will never cease. However not content with this degree of embattlement, the trees have (again) declared war on my face.

This annual offensive – likely to last a month or so – leaves me intermittently streaming at the eyes and nose.

The attacks are upredictable; beautiful sunny day, walking in the countryside (ok, flitting from shade to shade, slathered in factor 30) minimal blearyness.

Following morning, indoors, breezy , cool even – not enough hankies in the whole world. I have to constantly resist the urge to take my eyes out and wash them.

You might think that night shift would work for me at this time… sadly, you get night pollen as well. There is also the issue of pollen trapped in clothing, and hair. It would appear my beard is not my friend at all. However, there are some prices I am not willing to pay.

Next week on IaDL: Still on nightshift…
